We ALWAYS welcome everyone to come to our home to meet our Danes & us of course. Since not all of our puppy owners live within a reasonable driving distance to us, we provide videos of all of our Danes, where they live, of us, & our puppies. We take pride in our Danes & love to show them off!
When it comes to our Danes, we make sure they get the best care possible. Not only do they need a super high quality food, they also need regular grooming, exercise, a safe & comfortable home, regular socialization & training. In the summer it seems like I am giving someone a bath everyday but really what I do is everyone gets a bath every 2 to 3 weeks. I know someone will ask so I will just state it, this summer I am trying a new shampoo, I have been using the Goodwinol shampoo. Because of my Bio-security procedures, my place is flea & tick FREE!!! I brush everyone with a zoom groom (a MUST have) & with every bath they also get their ears cleaned.
Our Danes are a little spoiled, every house has A/C for them hot summer days. We always keep real fresh (not the store bought junk) cedar chips in our houses. We get our cedar lumber from a family owned saw mill & we chip it ourselves. Our guys always smell good! Although some of our Danes reside outside, they still get to come in our house to spend time with us on a regular basis.
My adults are RAW fed which does not even compare to the highest quality dry food. In my opinion, RAW is the best for any dog. In the pictures you can see some of our meals & 2 freezers JUST for our Danes. We feed chicken backs which are great because they still have liver stuck to them, chicken necks, deer (when it is the season), rabbits, squirrel, tuna, mackerel, & egg with the shell. I also make their treats with yogurt with peanut butter & freeze then in ice cube trays & they LOVE them. And then there are my homemade liver treats for training. For the simple fact that some of my girls can be picking eaters, I do sometimes have to feed dry kibble. Always remember to raise your Danes food & water as they grow to help prevent bloat (or as some people say, it only makes the Dane more comfortable) either way, it needs to be done.
My females whelp (give birth) in an 12X30 house that is heated/cooled & also video monitored. We can even monitor the temperature of every Dane house from inside our house from a wireless system. When the moms whelp, I am always there to make sure they don't have any trouble. And it always seems they start having the pups about 9:00 pm so I start to prepare myself for a long night.....
